Today’s card uses the Waterfront stamp set along with Delightful Daisy DSP. BOTH the stamp set and the DSP have been a bit challenging for me to work with. The stamp set is gorgeous! BUT I struggle with stamp sets that create a scene. My brain doesn’t see how all the stamps work together to create a scene. So, to the Occasions catalog I went to find inspiration. This card is a mashup of the two different cards that are featured along with this set.
As far as the Delightful Daisy DSP…. it is beautiful! Loved it from the first time I saw it released in the 2017-2018 Annual Catalog. However, every. single. time I pull it out to use it, I end up going with a different look. UNTIL this card. I love this piece of DSP as a background for this card. To me, it looks like a watery backdrop for our Waterfront scene. To complete the look of this card, I used some Burlap Ribbon and a touch of Linen Thread.

I didn’t have the exact colors that you used (only tranquil tide and old olive), but I did the best I could. My mountains were too dark and my trees were too light. But, every thing I stamp is a learning experience – if not a card. I used the wink of stella, but all it does is smear my ink around.

Jen, I felt exactly the same about this stamp set but I also wanted a stamp set that I could make scenes with. So I got one and I just stamped a very simple scene on a white card stock oval, I liked it so I then adhered this onto some backing DSP and onto some dark card stock for the base and it made a brilliant guy card for a family member. I love the way you have used the poloroid shape to frame your scene. I might need to try this next time. You did a brilliant job Jen. :O)
