Details
Today’s card is a bit similar to the shaker card I created last week. However, it is not a shaker card! LOL The idea I had was to make it look more like a stained glass window. I used the Lots of Lavender stamp set for the image, Eastern Beauty for the sentiment and a 2 1/2 x 4 Lots of Labels die to cut out the window.
The image was heat embossed on Vellum CS using VersaMark, Archival Basic Black Ink, and Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder. After embossing the image, I turned it around to the backside and colored it in using Dark Rich Razzleberry, Dark Old Olive, and Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends. If you do not have the Stampin’ Blends yet, any marker will work with this technique. I adhered the Vellum CS directly to the back of the whisper white window, then popped up using Foam Adhesive Strips.

Hi Jen,
Love this project, I think that the clear embossing powder does an amazing job on the black ink making it shine. Great TOP TIP to remember to heat gun the sentiment to ensure this is dry before assembling the card. Thank you for sharing this with us crafters. :O)

Aww!! Thank you Lorraine! It really does. I tried it without the embossing, but it definitely felt like it was lacking something. Tried with it and BAM! that’s what it needed! Oh yes… I learned the hard way and ruined an image because I didn’t heat set it before adhering it to my card. ugh! You are SO very welcome!
